Garmify ("Garmify", "we", "us") is an independent app developed and operated by Fatih Berat Can, an individual developer based in Turkey. For data protection purposes, we are the data controller for the information described in this policy.

When you create an account we collect your email address, password, first name and surname. Your password is never stored in readable form — it is hashed by our authentication provider, and we cannot see it. We use this information solely to create and secure your account, sign you in, and address you by name in the app.
When you add a garment, the photo is sent — through our own server, which forwards it to our AI provider — so the item can be automatically identified (its name, category, colour, pattern, warmth and formality). This is what saves you from typing those details in yourself. We route the request through our server so the provider's key stays private and so we can apply per-user rate limits; the photo passes through for that single purpose and we do not keep the original photo.
The app then keeps a cleaned-up, background-removed cut-out of the garment. That cut-out image is stored on your device and backed up to your private storage area in your Garmify account (hosted by Supabase), so your wardrobe restores when you reinstall or sign in on a new device. Only you can access it. Please avoid photographing people, documents or anything sensitive in the background of your garment photos.
To suggest what to wear, the app sends a short written description of the relevant part of your wardrobe and your preferences to our AI provider (again through our own server, as above). Nothing here identifies you — no name, email or account identifier is included — but you should know what it contains:
Because a free-text event description is sent as you wrote it, please avoid putting anything sensitive or identifying in that field.
Garmify suggests outfits based on the weather, which requires knowing roughly where you are. If you grant location permission, we take your device's position and deliberately round it to roughly one kilometre before sending it to our weather provider to retrieve the local forecast. Your precise coordinates never leave the app. You may instead search for a city by name, in which case that search term is sent rather than your device location.
Location is used only to fetch weather. Your precise coordinates are never stored — not by us and not by the weather provider — not used to build a profile, and not shared with anyone else. If you set a location by name instead, that city label is saved to your profile and backed up to your account so the app remembers it. You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings; the app remains usable, and you can set your location manually.
Garmify requires an account, and the wardrobe you build is kept on your device and backed up to your private account (hosted by Supabase) so it restores when you reinstall or sign in on another device. This data is scoped to your account — other users cannot see it, and we do not use it for any purpose other than running the app for you. It includes:
A few things stay only on your device and are never sent to us — for example your notification preferences and the app's local settings.
Deleting your account removes all of the above from our servers, including your images — see "Deleting your account" below.
If you subscribe to Garmify Pro, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never see or receive your payment card, billing address or similar financial details. We only learn whether an active subscription exists.
To state it plainly, Garmify does not:
We rely on a small number of service providers. Each receives only what it needs to perform its function:
| Provider | What it receives | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Your account (email, name, hashed password); your wardrobe data and cut-out images; your profile and preferences; and, as it forwards each AI request, your garment photos and outfit descriptions — which pass through without being stored | Accounts and sign-in; cloud backup and restore of your wardrobe; and securely relaying requests to the AI provider | Australia |
| Groq | Garment photos; descriptions of your clothes and style preferences (received via our Supabase server, never with your identity) | Garment tagging and outfit suggestions | United States |
| Open-Meteo | Coordinates or city name | Weather forecasts | European Union |
| Apple / Google | Purchase and subscription data | Payment processing | Global |
We may change providers as the app evolves — for example, moving garment tagging to a different AI provider. Where such a change materially affects how your data is handled, we will update this policy and its date.
As shown above, some providers are located outside your country, including the United States and Australia. Where personal data is transferred out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, that transfer is based on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent recognised safeguard offered by the provider.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region with similar law, we rely on:
Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights over your personal data:
You can delete your account at any time, from inside the app: open Profile → Delete account and confirm. This permanently removes your account and everything associated with it — your profile, your wardrobe data and your stored images — from our servers, and erases the Garmify data held on your device. It cannot be undone. If you would rather we did it for you, email support@fatihberatcan.com from your registered address.
To exercise any other right, contact support@fatihberatcan.com. We will respond within one month.
All communication between the app and our providers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS, and your data is encrypted at rest on our provider's servers. Passwords are hashed by our authentication provider and are never visible to us. On your device, your wardrobe is held in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. In the cloud, your data and images are isolated to your account by row-level security, so no other user can reach them.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your personal data occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authority where the law requires it.
Garmify is not directed at children. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and if you are under the age of digital consent in your country (which is up to 16 in parts of the European Union) you need your parent or guardian's permission to use it. We do not knowingly collect information from children below these ages. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact support@fatihberatcan.com and we will delete it.
We may update this policy as the app changes. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above. If a change materially affects how we handle your personal data, we will give you notice in the app before it takes effect.
